MAGIC Hits Las Vegas
Celebs have all flocked over to sin city Las Vegas for the semi-annual MAGIC fashion trade show event. Basically, all those celebs that had jumped on the designer bandwagon are getting a chance to display their collections.
'The Hills' queen Lauren Conrad was on hand at the trade show as well as exes Wilmer Valderama and Mandy Moore (who later said hello to each other). Mandy Moore's label is called MBLEM and Wilmer Valderama's is called Calavena.

A Roberto Cavalli-clad Nicole Richie showed off her adorable baby bump. The glowing mother-to-be paused on the carpet to kiss, hug, and chat with star stylist Robert Verdi.
Fergie looked absolutely charming in a Chanel frock. As the second performer, she didn’t have time to do interviews with all the press. But she did make sure to stop for the MySpace videographer. She shouted many praises and “thank yous” and blew kisses for the cam.
Steven Tyler of Aerosmith was one of the first celebrities to rock the red carpet. Dressed, in a leopard-print coat and zebra-print pants, Tyler was leaning backwards and striking dramatic poses, to the delight of press and fans alike. Aerosmith was up first and performed “Dude Looks Like a Lady.”
Ashlee Simpson accompanied the designer du jour Max Azria. Just about every other celebrity at the venue was wearing one of his creations.

Jessica Alba didn’t do press, but did flash us a demure smile. The Good Luck Chuck actress looked phenomenal in a Versace gown.
Jeremy Piven had a sidekick pumping up the fans crowded on the streets. As he walked the carpet, his companion would bellow out “Ladies and gentlemen. Make some noise for Jeremy Piven.” Piven would raise his arms, which were fashionably covered by his shimmering, iridescent suit, and he would soak up the fanatical screams of onlookers.
“I just think that it’s really important – your look – when you’re on stage. Your image is really important - and how you look and feel. And people notice. And fashion – it’s just a lot of fun… Well, Zac offered to dress me for the show, so I came up to his showroom and we chose this jacket for me. And it was like playing dress up. It was fabulous. So I chose the jacket and then Max Azria sent this gown as well. And they just seem to work. It’s sort of an unexpected combination. A long gown with a cool jacket. And they’re both very rock and roll.” – Country singing sensation Martina McBride talks about why fashion and rock go hand-in-hand.

Carrie Underwood skipped the press, and only stuck around for a few photo opps.
“I have a new album on the way. November 20th. Oh wow! [It’s about] life, people, inspiration, music!” – Mary J. Blije, clad in an all white ensemble, speaking of her upcoming album. Later, Mary J. performed a killer duet with Usher, and brought down the house.
“I was born in a small town. Well, I lived in a small town in Mississippi until I was six. And I grew up across the street from a shop that sold chips, beer, and ammunition. So we wrote this song about sort of my alter ego, as if that young girl grew and up and never got out of that small town, and had nothing to do but get into trouble.” – Leann Rimes, who wore Alexander McQueen, on her single “Nothing Better To Do.”
A Ports-clad Sophia Bush, who frequented many of the shows this week, told GlamScene she’ll be returning to work first thing tomorrow morning. We asked if she’d be interested in designing a collection. “No, not right now. If I was going to do something like that, I’d want to do it the way Gwen Stefani has done it. I’d wait to wait at the age where I was married, having kids, and I could really settle down, and devote time to it – because I’m totally anal retentive. I would want to control all of it. And at this point, I don’t have time for that. I’m just enjoying running into the shows and looking at other people’s beautiful creations.

Mischa Barton floated down the red carpet in a gray, embellished Versace gown.
“I love to stay home, watch television, and order pizza” – Carmen Electra, who was ultra feminine in Marchesa tells us something she thinks people would be surprised to know about her. She also mentioned her fall must have item, “a great pair of boots!”
Alicia Keys was all smiles on the red carpet, stopping to chitchat with friends. The beauty sparkled in a Calvin Klein dress. Keys closed the concert with an amazing duet with Carlos Santana.
Michelle Trachtenberg chose a sequined white Foley for Foley & Corinna dress for the concert. When asked if she’d do a short interview, she sarcastically quipped “Are they nice questions?”
Avril Lavigne, who said dressed in Max Azria said that “for events like Fashion Rocks, I figured I would dress up tonight.” Lavigne told me her must-have accessory for the fall: “My blackberry!”
“I box and ride bikes.” – Mya, wearing a short brown Max Azria dress, tells GlamScene a couple of facts she thinks people would be surprised to hear about her.

Jennifer Lopez, dressed to the nines in a flapper-inspired frock, skipped the press line and went straight to the photographers. Lopez performed a single from her new album, and gave us a blast from the past singing her older hits as well.
Kat Deluna taught a group of reporters how to do the “Whine Up” dance on the red carpet. “You have to put your left arm up, and then your right arm is gonna whip. Whine up, whine up, whine up.” When asked if she’s heard Britney Spears’ new single she said “I haven’t heard it! I’m dying to hear it!”
“Ah man! It’s exciting. It’s the hottest music of 2007. All of them are great. But one of my favorite songs, I actually lost the opportunity of presenting the way I wanted to. It’s called “Follow My Lead” featuring Robin Thick. The song leaked out. Unfortunately for me, you don’t get a second chance.” – 50 Cent on his new album.
Teri Hatcher escorted the men of Badgley Mischka down the red carpet. (She’s their new model.) When asked if what she thought of the fashion show, she screamed out “It was awesome!”
Ashanti, who looked beautiful in Reem Acra, was being beckoned for Q&As. She looked at her publicist, who was firmly shaking her head, and asked if she could do just a few quick interviews to appease the outraged cries of the press. Her PR rep, however, maintained her position. Ashanti looked deflated and said to the line of reporters “It’s not me! It’s her!”

Tyra Banks was getting her nose powdered half-way down the red carpet by a member of her entourage. Tyra’s show was represented on the red carpet, as Danielle Fishel (AKA Topanga from Boy Meets World) acted as the entertainment reporter, and told GlamScene “it’s so fun!”

The famous, fashionable, and fabulous came out in masses tonight to attend Fashion Rocks, the season’s hottest concert and runway production. Jessica Alba, Mischa Barton, Avril Lavigne, Jeremy Piven, Adam Levine, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Lopez, Aerosmith, Jennifer Hudson, Nicole Richie, and many more A-list stars were there…. and so was GlamScene! So stay tuned for lots of gossip, photos, interviews, and quotes from the red carpet and inside the super-exclusive and swanky soiree. xo
Here are a few unprofessional photos to hold you over… There’s a whole lot more where these came from… so check back soon!

Mom-to-be Nicole Richie looked ravishing on the red carpet…

Fergie is chic in Chanel…

Host, Jeremy Piven, in a swanky, shimmering suit…

Alicia Keys who closed down the show with Carlos Santana shimmers in a LBD.

Ashlee Simpson flaunts her figure in a fitted black frock.

Blurry, but nevertheless, beautiful: Carrie Underwood was stunning in a ruffled white dress.

Josh Groben graciously talked to everyone on the red carpet.

LL Cool J lives up to his name as always.

Michelle Trachtenberg spent a lot of the show chatting in the aisles with Ciara.

Sophia Bush was cutesy as ever in a Ports dress. She was sad that she couldn’t make it to the collection’s debut tomorrow, as she has to return to filming first in the in the morning.

Teri Hatcher arrives with the Badgley Mischka men.

Tyra Banks shakes things up - as always - in a feathered frock and short boots.
Bring on the A-listers! The Miss Sixty show was abuzz with some serious stars.

Can you identify this fab foursome? Left to right: Maggie Gyllenhaal, Hilary Swank, Demi Moore, and Clive Owen.

And some more non-professional photos of the fashionable four.

More Eye Candy: Here they are again…

Hilary Swank, who was dressed very casually in a henley tee and jeans, seems to be enjoying the show. Her front-row companion, Demi Moore, however takes a more serious tone, and even dramatically keeps her shades on throughout the show.

Clive Owen looks gorgeous in a dark, fitted suit and maroon tie. He defines debonair, sexy, and cool all in one.

Upon entering, Maggie Gyllenhaal was immediately surrounded by hungry photographers and reporters. After doing a couple of interviews she refused to do additional press. Her makeshift "bodyguard"/"publicist"/ was threatening to call security if people tried to take photos of her. Maggie then had three - yes that’s right - three people covering her so people would stop lunging at her for photo or press opportunities.

Hilary and Demi contemplate the collection…

A very casual Mischa Barton almost went unnoticed with her dark new mane, bright red lips, and simple tee shirt and jeans. We caught up with her after the show. She told us her favorite piece and why she loves Miss Sixty. "I really liked the silver jeans. It’s updated ’60s style. It’s modern! It’s cool."

Star Sightings on the Party Scene
Fashion Week = Party Time… And last night, I hit up George Lois and Tommy Hilfiger’s Iconic America soiree at NYC’s MoMA. I arrived post-red carpet since the L.A.M.B. show was running late… but I still managed to spot a few famous faces among the happily inebriated crowd of fashionistas, publicists, and professional party hoppers!
Who: Blake Lively. You know this gorgeous girl as the athletic and angst-ridden teenager in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. However, you will soon know her as Serena Van Der Woodsen in the CW’s upcoming Gossip Girls. (I was able to preview the premiere episode – and all I can say is “Oh My God!!!” You HAVE to watch this show. It’s so deliciously good. Serious scandal.)
Why Did I Notice Her: The outgoing and bubbly blonde was vivaciously dancing with friends, sipping her champagne, and having a blast. She also had a hankering for the dessert platters. She jokingly pushed her friends out of the way to accost the server carrying the tray of mini s’mores. (Got to love a girl with a sweet tooth.)
Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B.

Take a mega-star-singer-turned-designer with a knack for funky fashions, add in a show at Bryant Park, and sprinkle in a huge fanbase encompassing her many, eclectic talents (performing, designing, etc.) Well, what do you get?… A killer front row at the L.A.M.B. show. Yep, Gwen was back in action this fashion week, with a very unique collection that screamed Stefani’s signature style. And instead of conforming to Spring’s muted shades of pink and green, Gwen opted for a bold black-and-white retro-inspired statement. Star fans like Sophia Bush, Diddy, Eve, and Carrie Underwood were sitting pretty in support of Gwen’s fabulous fashion collection.

Eve was there to support her friend, fellow singer, and favorite fashionista, Gwen Stefani… "I must have it all! I don’t really have just one thing," she said when asked if there’s anything she wants from the collection.

Gwen’s husband, Gavin Rossdale, and her son Kingston were insanely cute throughout the show. Gavin was dancing and bouncing Kingston on his lap. And little K, was sucking on a pacifier and wearing huge silencing earphones to protect his ears from the thumping beat. GlamScene asked Gavin how he was feeling after seeing his wife’s show: "It’s great. It’s beautiful, and I’m very happy for her and all that stuff!"

Note Kingston’s aforementioned earphones. How cute is that?!?!… Meanwhile, Diddy intently watches a model strut the runway.

"I love the dresses. I’m a dress girl. They were all fabulous!" - Carrie Underwood on her favorite pieces. She was wearing a big bumble bee-inspired striped sweater. (Note that both she and Eve have L.A.M.B. clutches on their laps!)

Brittany Snow changed out of her aforementioned BCBG dress, and slipped into an equally adorable Erin Fetherston frock in time for the designer’s 3 p.m. show. Giggling in the front row with her rock-and-roll boyfriend, Snow was sugar sweet and button cute. GlamScene got in a little chat with the bubbly Brittany. Here’s what she had to say…
Stars Come Out for the Rag & Bone Boys
Stars love these two charming and super-laid back designers/heartthrobs… and so they came out (dressed in their most dapper men’s-inspired fashion) to support the handsome, stylish, and oh-so debonair Rag & Bone boys.

Kate Bosworth is cute as a button wearing a tuxedo-inspired white jacket. The crush-worthy cutie was ushered into Cipriani’s on 42nd Street, the swanky show destination, and was immediately surrounded by photographers, reporters, and fans. She maintained her cool and was as demure, bashful, and coy as can be.

Amanda Peet looks sophisticated in a pin-striped shirt and vest. She completed her nerdy-chic ensemble with a messy bun and glasses. It’s questionable if Peet really absorbed the collection, as she seemed distracted throughout most of the show, laughing hysterically and chatting with her friend and front-row companion.

Mya was there watching from the front-row, and having a blast! After the show she divulged her favorite looks: I reall really like the pin-striped blue and white - like baby blue and white [pieces/] I thought that was very flight attendant!… Everything wasn’t overly feminine but it was very appropriate. I would call it the young professional look. The colors were very simple – earth tones; and the nautical inspired look was really nice – the navy blue and white."

He Said/She Said: "Movies! We do that a lot. Makin’ out in the movies – that’s always fun!" - Nick Cannon on what he and his fiance do together for fun.
"I’m wearing Dolce and - well - Zara, actually." - Selita Ebanks talking about her ability to mix and match couture and mall-bought fashion finds.
(As a side note… Look at that ring! Talk about blinding bling! Nick Cannon told me that he designed it for her "I had to slyly ask these questions about the things that she liked. Actually the cut and clarity she knew that from the beginning but all other things I had to sneak around.)
Fashion Week is officially in full swing. The stylish soirees and chic shows kicked off in the main tent at Bryant Park with the absolutely adorable BCBG collection! And the one thing more impressive than the fab fashions: the celebrity turnout. Stars like Ashlee Simpson, Sophia Bush, Brittany Snow, Selita Ebanks, and Ciara happily hobnobbed in the front-row of the fun and youthful show.

Fashion Week (Mini) Scandal Alert!: Natasha Bedingfield did not wear BCBG to the show. (A serious no, no.) The beauty opted for a leopard-print Karen Zambos dress. Natasha told GlamScene what she loves about fashion: "I like clothes that you wear [rather than clothes] that wear you. I like clothes to fit your figure. The thing I like about fall is you have a chance to wear more clothes [whereas] in the summer you wear less. You can play around with the high-waisted skirts and more sophisticated looks. And to me fall has a lot of memories – very nostalgic. So I always feel like in the fall I can wear more like ‘50s inspired [pieces] and go back in time a little."
When asked about her daily beauty regiment, Natasha told GlamScene, "I drink a lot; I moisturize. This year more than ever [I’m using] salt scrubs. I have like a body brush. It makes your skin really soft. I like textures and softness."

Sophia Bush, who recently won three Teen Choice Awards (and "wasn’t expecting to win one of them - let alone three of them,") was chatting with pal (and John Tucker Must Die co-star) Brittany Snow throughout the show. She told GlamScene why she loves BCBG: "I love Max’s entire style. He makes clothes that are so chic - almost effortless. The attention to detail is so particular. You can throw something on, and in two minutes, you look fabulous all day! And I think that’s really the key to fashion. Having it be easy, practical, but at the same time having an edgy twist. He does that so well."
When asked about her fall style credo, Sophia said, "I love coats, boots, colored leather gloves. I’m all across the board! Big oversized sweaters I just picked up an amazing one – an amazing sweater from Max, big knit, great patterns in it. I love to be cozy in the fall!"

Hairspray cutie Brittany Snow was wearing a black, white, and blue BCBG chiffon dress, and was rocking the fall-favorite nail color (a vampy maroon, of course.) She sat next to Ashlee Simpson.

Ashlee Simpson refused to do pre-show press. She has a bodyguard hovering over her “protecting” her from the flashes of cameras and the pens of reporters. Anyone who attempted to take a photo got a swift hand to the lens… and a bit of a tongue lashing. After the show she told GlamScene her favorite piece was "one of the short little dresses!"
More Gossip Seen and Heard at the BCBG show
• Selita Ebanks, who had that undeniable glow of a woman in love, told GlamScene why she adores BCBG: "It’s fun; it’s young! It makes you feel like a little princess.
• Ciara looked absolutely beautiful in a gray beret hat – a serious fashion "do" for the fall! She told GlamScene that she was there "to support Max Azria. Just want to see what’s going on! I love clothes! I love shoes!"

Mariah Carey hit up Diddy’s infamous Labor Day White Party in the Hamptons this weekend. We’re happy to see the buxom beauty out and about in the spotlight. Now we’re just awaiting her next hit single…
Other fete-attendees, dressed in head-to-toe white (and we mean white – all shades of cream/ecru/off-white were not acceptable) included this ecelctic group: Diddy’s mom, Star Jones, Al Reynolds, Lorraine Bracco, Ashley Olsen, and Tommy Lee, who even took over the DJing duties for a while!
COMMENT CORNER - Join the Debate: Labor Day is the unofficial end of summer… but will you still wear white?!? (I certainly will!)
